¶ … Judgment," a masterpiece by Michelangelo, as the name depicts is about the Day of Judgment and the concept of heaven and hell. Since Michelangelo was fascinated by human anatomy, the Last Judgment also highlights his interest in this field along with the actual theme of the work. Christ is the central figure of the fresco and is presented as a symbol that generates both fear and hope. The dead are rising to face the final judgment and the right and left arm depict the blessed and the damned respectively. The fresco was once seen as obscene and the church had some of its part repainted in order to cover what was considered vulgar and unworthy of a place in the Sistine Chapel.
