¶ … local farmer / producers/growers. One Oklahoma City state United States. Please make crops markets include horticulture crops. Inform.informations include limited: Growers / names, farm enterprise, crops grown, acres. Two different small farmers Crestview Farms is a certified organic farm that grows a wide range of vegetables, fruits, and herbs. The farm is operational year 'round.

Crestview places a strong emphasis on seasonal produce, although it does grow some of its produce in its greenhouse and hoophouse to allow the farm to offer food to customers twelve months a year, even during the dead of winter. Currently, the farm is offering potatoes, onions, garlic, shallots, and herbs and lettuce (the majority of which are cold-weather crops). Throughout different times of the year, it also sells tomatoes, peppers, other herbs, broccoli, squash, cabbage, beans, and many other varieties of vegetables.

All produce is grown without synthetic chemicals and no GMOs are allowed. The farm only uses OMRI (Organic Materials Research Institute)-approved products, including seeds. Although the farm is based outside of the city itself, it participates in co-op programs and online ordering for residents of the city. Its CSA (community-supported agriculture) program, in which residents buy a 'share' of the output before the season begins, is a particularly critical component of the farm's ability to survive.

Oklahoma weather is extremely unpredictable (and tornados are a real threat), so having the security that a certain percentage of the crop is known to be wanted is essential. Both full shares and half shares are available. As well as produce, the farm sells other local, organic products such as Christian Cheese, free range eggs, and honey. All products are made in Oklahoma. It also sells gift baskets made with organic products such as jellies, salsa, Chow, picante sauce, pickles, relishes, and mustards.

The farm hosts events such as cookouts and hayrides to attract customers and to contribute to the community and to raise awareness of the benefits of organic farming. If Crestview Farm is a rather 'downscale' organic farm, Paradise Farm in New Jersey is the opposite: an unapologetically luxury CSA that emphasizes organic produce and fine eating. "The family has produced vegetables dating back to the 19th Century.

Herb and Lothar Ehrich having emigrated from Europe in 1961 spent their earlier days in a small farm town steeped in a history of vegetable production dating back centuries. Every inch of their modest old world farm produced vegetables, berries in abundance, grapes and of course tree fruits" (Paradise Farms, Official Homepage). As well as the more traditional Jersey summer staples of tomatoes and summer squash, the CSA operates nearly year 'round. For example, during November it offered celery, scallions, kale, cabbage, herbs, and other cold weather vegetables.

The farm advertises itself as organic, although it is still pending USDA certification. The farm uses no synthetic pesticides.
