It shows that McCain is not afraid to stand for what is right and he can voice his views even if they run contrary to his party's. this must be borne in mind because too many of us would link him to Bush presidency and assume that he would be just like his predecessor which is actually not the case. McCain has spent a great deal of time in politics and thus knows how to deal with troublemakers and tough issues. He was once accused of being a white southerner who had moved to the North. This kind of charge is usually made when someone is being accused of being a racist. McCain took this charge to heart and when one reporter made this comment, he replied in a passionate yet very sensible manner, saying:

"Listen, pal. I spent 22 years in the Navy. My father was in the Navy. My grandfather was in the Navy. We in the military service tend to move a lot. We have to live in all parts of the country, all parts of the world. He has witnessed many presidential follies and successes and thus he has absorbed much and learned more than Obama could possibly have in his short time as Senator.
the candidates' choice of running mates also indicate who is a better choice. Obama chose Joe Biden because he had what Obama himself lacked i.e. experience. On the other hand, McCain chose an unknown Alaskan governor Sarah Palin who has given major boost to McCain campaign. On the surface it may appear that Biden is a better running mate than Palin because of his experience but look it from another angle. The fact that McCain chose Palin indicates that this man is willing to take risks. He is willing to take his chances and that is the sign of a good and wise statesman. We need someone who is not afraid to be a little unconventional in his approach and McCain has proved that he had take risks. Thus McCain is definitely a much stronger candidate than Obama.

For instance, both have made energy independence a strong component of their policies, yet energy independence is a decade or two away. This is a noble long-term goal but will not address today's economic issues. McCain's economic ideologies are rooted in 20th century economic

However, his parents would later choose for him by guiding him towards the military education. Considering how firmly McCain expresses his support for continuing the war in Iraq although under different command, it is clear that he represents a solution for the current situation. Our nation needs a leader with experience and that has the courage to make the toughest decisions in order to achieve victory. Although McCain has shown his support for the war against terrorism, he has also criticized the ability of

Meanwhile in the journal Du Bois Review (Parker, et al., 2009, p. 194) the authors point to racism and patriotism as key themes for the 2008 Democratic primary election. "Race was a consistent narrative" used by those opposed to Obama, Parker explains (p. 194). Both Clinton and the Republicans "used racial references" to attack Obama, including the attacks on Obama "for his perceived inability to connect to 'real working

Suggestions of Bill's past infidelity, used to attack Hillary, would imply that Hillary was somehow responsible for her husband's indiscretions. That would hearken back to old gender-roles, which made women responsible for the family and the caretakers of their marriages. In turn, that would seem to suggest that Hillary had failed in that responsibility by stepping outside of the domestic sphere. Of course, the most dramatic example of stepping
