The table is significantly complicated by the inclusion of more than two factors:

Any combination of the factors could result in the majority of nurses returning to work. Individually, each nurse has his or her own motivations for doing so.

The iterative proportional fitting procedure can be used to calculate expected frequencies.

Note: Specifically, the indication of this study is that nurses would return to work were certain factors in the work situation to change. Specifically, the highest frequencies are assigned to work load and hours. These are also the two most common factors in causing burnout and stress in the profession. Concomitantly, if inactive nurses were to return to work under better conditions in this regard, the workload, stress, and burnout factors can also be significantly reduced in the nursing profession in general.

3. PURPOSE of STATISTICAL TEST

Crosstabulation is one of the simplest statistical tests available for analyzing and comparing statistical data. It lends itself well to indicating relationships and frequencies between data factors.

Purpose of Crosstabulation for Study

Determining the factors that could potentially influence nurses to return to work.

Indicating the importance of various influencing factors for both inactive nurses and by association for active nurses:

In this regard, the causes of stress and burnout resulting in nurses leaving the profession are particularly...

...

This can be used to test the interaction of the various factors and their statistical significance:
Nurses may for example experience the highest frequency of likelihood to return to nursing if various factors are in favor of their doing so. This result can then be used to predict a more accurate number of returns when variables are modified.

Correspondence analysis measure the correspondence between factors presented in the table. This can be used in concomitance with the log-linear results in order to further increase the accuracy of predictions. Note: if the most significant factors in nursing can be modified, a significant mitigation of nursing shortage can be orchestrated.

Nurse Research Decision theory describes the rules and standards that are used to make some specific form of decision or judgment. With respect to data analysis, decision theory describes the rules and procedures that should be used to interpret the results of the findings in the data. Such rules include hypothesis testing, qualitative data interpretation, and other types of inferential procedures. Probability theory is used in quantitative data analysis and provides

The strengths of this design are related to the ease of application and usage. The design of the survey was easy to administer and self explanatory. While the weakness was related to the willingness of the participant to Chapter Three 5 participate complete the survey and provide truthful responses. An additional weakness is relative to the age group that was present for the survey and their relationship to the use of

Nursing Research Analyzing Qualitative Data Qualitative data, which usually consists of narrative materials (Polit & Beck, 2008, p. 507), is analyzed by three major styles. Template analysis involves development of a guide to which gathered data is applied and adjustment of the guide as more data is applied. This method tends to be interpretive rather than statistical. Editing analysis involves interpretation of data for "meaningful segments," then development of a category scheme

Nursing Shortage The foundation of health care system is comprised of the different medical and health-care professions, each considered of playing important and significant role in maintaining satisfactory health care service to people. To be able to maintain an excellent health care service, the system must meet and satisfy the law of supply and demand in our health care professionals -- one aspect in which the nursing area has been experiencing

Nursing Research Report The structure of a research report is simple. It is almost the same as the structure of the research itself: the problem, the methodology, the results, the conclusions, and the interpretations. The purpose of the research report is to inform readers about the problem investigated, the methods used to solve the problem, the results of the investigation, and the conclusions inferred from the results (Polit & Beck, 2004).
