Observing someone from afar is entertaining, but it can also give the observer clues to a person's personality if the observation is close and detailed. Observing people can also give the observer many ideas of how writers create meaningful and real characters by basing them on the observation of real people. PERSON IN A SHOPPING MALL

She went right into The Gap, and began browsing in the tops and pants. She liked to feel the materials, and I noticed she would hold a sleeve or a pants leg in her hand to feel the weight and texture of the material. After she looked at several different tops, she disappeared into a changing room. When she came out, she selected a russet-colored wool sweater in a chunky knit.…

There was a great deal of lively discussion about certain sentences, and students enjoyed spotting obviously outrageous, unsupported opinions presented as facts in some of the newspaper articles. Comparison The lessons that used group activities seemed to generate the most student excitement and involvement. The written poetry lesson plan that encouraged the most student creativity and personal engagement seemed to be the most exciting for the students, and felt the least

The preschool period is generally considered to be three to five years of age (4). I observed a five-year-old female playing at a playground. The tasks witnessed were running, playing on a slide, ascending stairs, and climbing on a jungle gym (a circular interlocked metal object with a ladder). Play was performed in the presence of her mother and older brother. The preschooler is a very social individual who is

224) To Galton, there was no reason why blind painters could not become great in their own right: "They can also become painters of the rank of Royal Academicians." (ibid.) Conclusion The 'Mind's eye' is a fascinating treatise on how blind people are actually far more sightful than we take them to be. In fact, blind people may actually be more sightful than sighted individuals themselves. Blind people are often encouraged to transfer

NI observed a five-year-old female playing at a playground. The tasks I witnessed included seeing the child running, playing on a slide, ascending stairs and climbing on playground equipment. The child is in Erickson's third stage of development where play is an important component of learning. This is why the child had a tendency to mimic the actions of the other older children on the playground. She was so amused by

Interviewing and Observing Activity: Summary Given the brief period of time our group was allotted, we focused on subjects we had in common, such as our decision to go to college. Conducting an interview is like meeting someone for the first time. It is usually unwise to begin with 'hard hitting' or obscure questions. The questions we asked were as follows: How did you decide on a college? Why did you
