The ECFMG facilitates the acquisition of appropriate credentials for medical students across the world. Both the internal factor of organization's defined mission and the external factor of globalization have influenced the evolution of the organization and its ability to meet its stated goals.

Having a clear organizational mission enables the organization to set clear financial, practical, and long-term goals for the organization's employees in an effective and collaborative manner. ECFMG's commitment and mission of improving world health is facilitated by its diversity of staff members and their willingness to embrace the different contributions of different medical students and doctors from all over the globe. Professionalism on the part of employees is also facilitated by management's demanding high standards of employees, in line with the stress of the necessity of improving world health care and helping students.
