Reaction Paper on the "Storytelling" Class (September 10)
Section I: Insight
One insight from the "Storytelling" class was the importance of self-expression and the courage to put oneself out into the world. Both speakers showed this through their personal lives. The first speaker was a Black Colombian dancer: she shared how her dance helped her earn a scholarship and express her cultural roots on the global stage. Objectively, her story showed the power of art to let one rise above boundaries and create new opportunities. Subjectively, her story resonated with me because I feel the importance of staying authentic and using ones unique talents to make an impact. Similarly, the second speaker, who was an alumna, emphasized how stepping out of her comfort zone, as urged by Professor Green, led her to discover her passion for HR and podcasting. This objective experience showed that taking risks can unveil hidden potential. On a subjective level, I felt inspired by her bravery and how she redefined her career through persistence and self-belief.
Section II: Linkages
The insight from this class connects with my own experience of stepping out of my comfort zone during a public speaking event. Initially, I hesitated to participate due to fear of failure. However, my experience was similar to the alumnas story, because once I pushed myself, I received positive feedback and realized that my message resonated with others. This mirrored how the second speaker found success once she embraced being vulnerable and pursued her passion. Additionally, the Black Colombian dancer's journey reminded me of a documentary I watched, where artists from underrepresented communities used their craft to tell their stories and gain visibility on the international stage.
Section III: Action
Moving forward, I will:
1. Embrace more opportunities for self-expression, particularly by taking part in activities that let me show my skills and passion.
2. I will actively challenge self-doubt by writing daily affirmations and reminding myself of my potential, just as the professor encouraged us to do with the "I am" exercise.

15). In my opinion, Atticus Finch teaches us the latter kind of model of leadership both, in his small family as a widowed father, and his small town community as an attorney. I think it follows from this style of leadership that leaders are very often regarded as people who "act" instead of people who simply "direct." Atticus runs his family like a judge: he's the one in charge, and

If [these] postulates are correct, there very well could be an economic incentive for public authorities (i.e. states) to create post-tenure review and other methods to avoid such employment rights." (Dilts et al., 335) This is a new insight on the subject, producing a clearer understanding of the political battle being waged between educators and those administrative and governmental forces that have sought a change in employment policies.
