Passion/Personal Experience
As a daughter to two traditional Chinese parents, I have consistently struggled with maintaining my individual identity while respecting my heritage. Part of this struggle is evident in my pursuit of a higher education. Since I have been exposed to the Western educational system, I have endeavored to attain mastery of the language as well as of the foundation of knowledge available. Because I worked hard, I was able to maintain a high grade point average and prove my abilities. However, this was all accomplished with significant personal conflict. Because my parents feel that women should be primarily caregivers, mothers and housewives, my education carries a low priority to my family. They feel that I should focus more on traditional female roles, whereas I realize that education is important regardless of one's station in life. Although life is a struggle, I continue to chase my dreams and hope that my education rewards me and my family as well.
A do, however, honor the traditional role of women as caregivers, nurturers, and mothers. While I do not fight against these stereotypes, I also feel the need to learn and develop intellectual interests outside of the family life. I feel that educational pursuits can only add to a rich family experience. Women can enjoy a quality education without sacrificing family or children. In fact, women who achieve higher degrees are probably more able to provide for their children in times of need, for their employment potentials are greater and more flexible.
Job prospects are not, however, my sole reasons for pursuing a higher degree. Rather, I have always been drawn to learning and gathering knowledge for its own sake. Whether or not I choose to take my degree to its furthest potential, or to simply savor the fruits of my labor, I do intend to work as hard as possible in achieving my degree. I respect my traditional upbringing and intend to honor my parents; however, I also hope to act independently and take advantage of the opportunities available to me. Education translates into self-improvement and an enriched lifestyle that can only improve the lives of those around me.

The feeling that I was cut out for this role of a pharmacist came when I was fascinated in the chemistry classes about the medications, and the origin of bio-medicals. My fascination and the interaction with the patients where I work have made me known and liked in the current place of work. That would take this argument to the work experience and qualifications. 3. I am now a student
