Of course, the main stumbling block to overcome is the breeding and creating of new bigots, although that seems to be less prevalent than in the days of government-sanctioned segregation and other racism. That being said, anybody that thought the election of Obama would end our racial society was out of their mind. To this day, people often use accusations of racism to deflect criticism of Obama or other black elected officials and that is shameful unless there is a clear sign of bigotry coming into play. The point is that the proverbial "kicking of the can" down the road of ending bigotry are people that do not WANT the appearance of bigotry to end and they will make it up as they go along as they see fit. However, there is indeed some work to be done with real bigotry but the overall shift away from bigotry as the people who perpetrated the pre-Civil Rights era are starting to fade away. As noted above, people will create racism even when it doesn't obviously or actually exist but the other side of that coin is that bigoted people will try to portend that they are not bigoted. Either way, the consequence and aftermath of either proposition is very real in its consequences, per the Thomas Theorem proving itself to be true. This pattern and path pervades conflict theory, the feminist perspective and other similar theories whose believers will work themselves into a tizzy and thus cause real issues and consequences even if the details and beliefs are misguided or even entirely fabricated. As for Karl Marx, he was very much a believer in the people rising up the rich and powerful which is something else that lends itself to corollaries to the Thomas Theorem as well as conflict, feminist and other similar ideologies.

Biases in Person Perception-Self-Verification Biases in Self-Perception "O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us ... To see ourselves as others see us," wrote Scotland's bard Robert Burns, asserting the oft-believed truism that we would all like to have the power to know exactly what it is that other people are saying and thinking about us. And yet, as the poet continues on to say, the more we think about this

(Grossman, 2003, Academic Search Elite) It is hoped that a greater understanding of the human brain's ability to recognize faces in a specific sequence, group of patterns, density and also in whole or part will further assist the purveyors of new technology to train machines to do the same. "The most serious threats to our freedom often advance in small steps. Face recognition systems may one day provide significant benefits

The results of this study found that some negative bias towards a patient's socioeconomic standing -- particularly from less-experienced dental students -- can result in "differential treatment" (e.g., less attentive care) (Carson, 675). But by "heightening awareness" of potential biases (that are based on accent or perceived lower socioeconomic status, or on racism) among dental students, through educational initiatives, stereotyping and bias can be reduced if not eliminated (Carson,

Perception is the basis of a human's ability to see, hear, and make sense out of these senses. The different types of perception include bottom-up processing, which researchers sometimes refer to data-driven processing, top-down processing, which is sometimes called conceptually driven processing. There are also different ways of viewing perception. An alternative theory believes there are two ways people use perception, the direct view, and the constructive view. Direct relates
