The Property Tax Bill Essay

Defining the Problem Comment by Fischer, Kahlib: One paragraph. People often commit crimes and while only Christ can save people, the law made by the government can at least guide people into doing what is deemed right by society. While only Christ removes evil, policies introduced by the government can promote control. The H.R.614 - Protect Our Schools from Tax Delinquents Act of 2017 is a bill that aims to reduce tax delinquency in owners of property that rent to Section 8 voucher holders. The bill is aimed at reducing the possibility of property owners not paying their taxes in a timely manner and having the paid taxes used to cover the cost of schools (cover taxes) (Congress, 2017).

May: Biblical guidelines and principles

The Two main principles to discuss here is ‘Man is Sin’ and ‘Jesus Christ is the only means of ultimate salvation’. Government interventions like the bill proposed will only have limited success due to the irrationality of political leaders and citizens. The only person that can save humanity from evil is Jesus Christ. But, even with the limited success, it can still help reinforce the need for property owners to pay their taxes accordingly (Kraft & Furlong, 2017).

Constitutional...

As is the right of Congress to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, and so forth to pay the Debts and provide for the general Welfare of the United States (DiNitto & Johnson, 2016) under the enumerated powers of the federal institution, it is lawful that a bill is made to reinforce the power of the government to collect taxes. 1900: Knowlton v. Moore, 178 U.S. 41 was a Supreme Court Case that helped define the meaning of ‘direct taxes’ providing the foundation from which to create things like general property tax that would be reworked in the early 20th century (Famguardian, 2017).
Can: Political Feasibility Comment by Fischer, Kahlib: One brief paragraph for each of these.

Three Republicans sponsor the bill. They are Rep. Patrick Tiberi, Lou Barletta, and Ryan Costello. According to the congress.gov website, it was introduced 1/23/2017 and may be passed because it is an amendment to an already established bill.

Financial feasibility

CBO.gov didn’t have a similar bill that was passed so therefore a similar budget is not available. Because this is enforcement of property tax adherence…
