Negotiation or Becoming a Skilled Negotiator The book "Negotiating at an uneven Table" entails the negotiation of conflicts in situations where some parties are at a greater disadvantage while the other parties do not acknowledge. In this case, the book issues the strategies that the disadvantaged can use. The models of recognizing uneven negotiation circumstances for all parties are also identified. This paper analyses the ways of being as discussed in the book. These chapters help to advance various uneven negotiation tables constructively. The second way of being is "Be a truth teller." According to the author when negotiating at an uneven table an individual must always tell the truth. This is because this prevents the possibilities of being caught up by the opposition parties. Other than that, telling the truth prevents one from contradicting his or her statements. This can cause one to be easily defeated through comparing the different statements. The individual might also be stuck in the middle of the negotiation since he or she is already at a disadvantage (Lowe & Pile 2007).
