Protein Localization

Teana's post on Protein Localization is quite educative and exciting at the same time. It inspires me to venture into research on our body organelles to find out about more of such interesting facts. I never knew that Protein Localization in the mitochondria could prevent breast cancer (Weill, 2019). The role of Prohibitin protein indeed depends on its position of localization.

Therefore, it is necessary that PHB is localized in the Mitochondria and not in the nucleus to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. It is so new to me, indicating that science is fascinating. Unfortunately, such essential facts are only taught in the field of medicine. I wish there were a way through which other people who are illiterate or those whose studies are specialized in other fields can be taught about such (Mikuni, 2020). People must know how their bodies function and how they can take care of themselves. Ignorance is quite dangerous, but it can be avoided.

For instance, most people do not know the amount of recommended protein intake and the amount considered toxic. Learning about our bodies can go a long way in saving lives (Caldwell, 2018). I agree with Teana that there are many beautiful functions and processes that our bodies must go through every day to live and thrive. She points out that proteins control all cellular functions and responses. For this reason, we must take in substantial amounts of proteins for our bodies to function correctly.

The post is comprehensive on how protein localization prevents cancer. Indeed, God is excellent, and he does everything in perfection. Everything inside our bodies was well designed to be carried out perfectly. As written in the Bible, "Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect." (King James Version Matthew 5:48).
