Collaboration between parents and community members is evident as well. We often have parent / child literacy nights. Annually we also hold a Brotherhood Dinner that honors community members that have positively influenced the children in our neighborhoods. Knowledge acquired from textbooks and college classes may give me some techniques and standards that effective leaders must know, however they are not going to teach me everything I need to know. Hopefully, my experiences as a successful coach and an employee of an excellent leader will help in building a solid foundation for me to become an effective leader myself.
