Alyssa's analysis of Hotel Pool was insightful because she emphasized some of the different elements that are salient in a sight specific performance and distinct from a conventional stage one. In particular, her comment about the actual art including elements of the site, such as the water splashing up in the air after the dancers plunged into it, is the whole point of doing a site specific performance. I also agree with what she said about the setting from TaskForce UK Chapter 6 encouraging anticipation for the summer time. That was actually one of the best parts about this video, watching people in what must have been ideal (meaning hot) weather and taking advantage of it in a pool.

Just based on what Nicole wrote about Hotel Pool, it seems that this video has a lot in common...

This seems especially true about the dancers reflecting different moods. The dancers displayed an assortment of different moods and attitudes in Koplowitz's piece; at the end of the dance when they crept out of the water and the music receded some, they seemed various serious. In the beginning, however, they were really playful. it's interesting that I got a similar feel to Nicole about the trapped, nightmarish imagery of Melt (a work in progress).
I think Jessica's right when she talks about how there was so much space in the Melt (a work of progress dance), yet the dancers only occupied such a little amount of it. The fact that they were fastened to the wall on chairs certainly contributed to this effect, which became magnified by the size of the wall and the considerable distance of it -- and the dancers -- from the audience itself. Meditation in Thurman and Nafisi Reading and Meditation are similar because they both involve using the imagination. When one reads, one creates a vivid picture in the mind of what the words are suggesting: it is an active process on the part of the reader, who must "picture" the events as the words are described (as opposed to sitting passively before a screen and allowing the projector to do all

Los Angeles' worship of the culture of the car is likewise mocked. For example, Stan and his friend Gene have to find a new engine for their car, and to navigate their way to their other friend's house, they must wander through what looks like a graveyard of parked cars, where people are drinking cheap booze. The metaphor is clear -- they may be in cars, and Stan may

Global warming is due to human actions. Since the Industrial Revolution, there is an increase in the greenhouse gases all over the world. This, consequently, has turned out to be the cause of a slow but sure increase of the temperature of the earth's lower atmosphere. This phenomenon has been given the name of Global Warming ("Global Warming," 2009). The greenhouse effect is a natural process due to which the temperature of

As of May 2, 2009, CNN has reported there are 160 confirmed cases of swine flu across the United States of America and about 108 cases throughout the rest of the world. Although the swine flu (H1N1) strain's discovery in the 1930s has shown not so much an aggressive spread of the disease through the years worldwide, a flaccid approach to the prevention and eradication of any communicable pathogen could
