Discussion
It is clear that travel and tourism in some areas of the world will face great challenges specifically due to global climate change and the present world economic outlook. Although not within the scope of this study a factor that is likely to affect travel and tourism will be the rise of infectious disease such as Swine Flue, Bird Flue and others.
Conclusion
The travel and tourism industry will be challenged in the years to come however, mid-market establishments who make the right decisions in their marketing mix are likely to realize a growth in the future due to travelers looking for ways to cut costs. Eco-Tourism is also likely to experience a boom in the years to come. Regions of the world that experience a large population of individuals who become sick due to infectious diseases are likely to have lower travel and tourism growth than other areas of the world.
