¶ … Trouble with Your Strategy? Then Map it
One of the measurements of the success of an organization is the application of effective and efficient strategies harmoniously directing towards the attainment of its mission, vision and goals. How about if the strategies applied are in trouble? Then there is a need to further the strategies until it is perfectly strategized. In this situation there is a need to map out our strategies.
Maps are directions which lead to a certain point of reality, the point where we are heading to. It is like in an organization, the way to attain our shared hopes and what we want to be known for is mapping out what we really want to achieve putting systematic strategies.
Strategic directions are oftentimes the core of the shell which organization must do in order to unify their vision and mission with their operational plans in which strategy maps are needed tools to visualized actions in achieving goals. There is a need to map out strategies in order to increase outcomes, to produce more quality results, to enhance organization's performance and to create better environment for clients and community where the organization operates.
For an organization to clearly understand its existence, it should focus on its strategic map or its strategic directions to avoid some troubles in the middle of its operations. Strategic maps are organization's plans which deal with outcomes putting systems and controls on how to implement and evaluate the results. The maps will also serve as a framework in determining the real needs of the organization and its beneficiaries. In customer perspective, there should be true strategies to come up with operational excellence, customer intimacy and product leadership.
Analysis
Mobil's strategic map is an excellent example of an organization which perfectly established concrete strategic systems which evolve on financial management, customer perspective, internal processes perspective and learning and growth perspective.
Financial management must be strategized as this will determine the operational condition of the organization towards implementing its programs and services. Fiscal strategies are important to map out especially in a world where fund sourcing is a tough competition. Customer relations on the other hand must always be maintained as they serve as the basket of resources and the measurement of the organization's existence.
Once the customers' delight is met happily and satisfactorily, the organization's market aims are met. There should be an established protocols when it comes to customer relations and things should be strategized in order to let our clients understand our aims and for us to give what they expect from us. Internal processes perspective is now the organization's way of putting system inside, the means on how to do things in the right time, at the right place, right amount for the right product for the right customer. In the learning and growth perspective, people in the organization must be competent and skilled in providing the services expected by the client. In order to avoid troubles, right people must be employed in the organization with right knowledge, skills combined with right attitude.
