Valerie, I resonate with many of your ideas regarding identity theft and understand the difficulties in gathering valid and useful information in research efforts. Identity theft is very hard to qualify in many ways because, the result of indentify theft is not really identity but most like materials or money gained from pretending to be someone else. Since identity is something that is subjective and intensely personal, perhaps a new label can be used to help facilitate the research process and make thing easier to define. The one thing I have learned in this course of study is that words sometimes have two meanings or more and that the pathway to knowledge requires a balance of both qualitative and quantitative efforts to balance the equation. The topic of immigration is very relevant in today's world and I'm glad you addressed this topic in this forum. The one problem with this idea is that "illegal" immigration...

You addressed that policy plays a major role in developing solutions to this problem through the research process and I agree with your conclusion that examining past case studies focusing on public support we can learn much more about the real causes of this problem and perhaps redefine this idea into a different idea outside the realm of criminal justice.

Shover (2012) used fine examples and arguments in determining how and why a theory can be considered credible in the research process and I agree with your synopisis on the subject as you apply it to your specific research question. Surveys and questionnaires are in fact very practical tools in deducing new information however their manner of implementation become paramount in their ultimate success. In other words, its not what tool is used, but how…

Your comments on experimental design helped me better understand the concept in different terms. Merral et al. (2010) explained this method as beneficial when the right circumstances are in place and there is a definite need to use this tool. By emphasizing the design of the research you reveal the importance of the research question itself as central to the research process. This makes much sense to me, because if you are asking the wrong questions, the research that is resultant is not applicable to the intent of the research. Border security seems like a very tricky research problem and that it is important that you are asking the right questions in order to get the right answers.

My research is descriptive in nature and aims to redefine or at least attempt to redefine what we have been taught to believe as being true in regards to how the media presents terrorism. Surveys will be used in relevant literature but I do not intend to create one, due to the aim of my research. The nature of my research is mostly qualitative so surveys can be used in conjunction with qualitative methods that can help infer some important aspect about my topic. I do however respect your opinions on convention and understand the need to have only method if possible, it is just that I have never seen any argument that does not include some ratio of subjective and objective understanding, they seem to go hand in hand.

modernity, the idea of culture and groups has become complex and morphed into an amalgamation of definitions surrounding the idea of just what it is that defines a community. The idea of "community" as a political or sociological concept, has taken on new meaning in the 21st century era of globalization. First, however, it is important to understand the basic idea of community, as well as the political, social

Baggetta says, "My painting process is a very active one where my first marks and impressions are usually quiet and deliberate strokes" (Marla pp). Two of her pieces, "Across the Fields," (9"x9") and "Winter Hike," (12"x12") are excellent examples of her work as a landscape artist, and can be found at gabrie.com/marla_baggetta.html. Other examples of her landscape work, including "Breath of Winter," (12"x12"), "Across the Valley," (18"x18"), "Cedar Oak,"

Terrorism Balancing Act

John I respectfully disagree with your opinion on the definition of terrorism. For me, it seems a mistake to label crime as terrorism because of the vagueness of the word. The U.S. Code appears to be flawed. As a personal victim of violent crime, I do not lesson my fear or pain. I was terrorized for months after. For you and other supporters of the U.S. Code, since the government

Spike Lee, Jay-Z and Black Culture Often, the leading figures in black cultural history are those that have played a direct role in the struggles for freedom, Civil Rights and equality. This certainly speaks to the inextricable link between African-American identity and a long history of oppression. However, it would be remiss to overlook the incredible contributions made to black cultural identity by those who have most visibility optimized the freedoms

" Cultural and social differences, then, between men and women are not so much reflections of differing social roles and expectations as they are reflections of basic genetic differences between men and women..." (Groenhout 51) 3.1. The family To understand this criticism of feminism and the reaction to the attack on female domesticity, one has to know something about the background that initiated this reaction. This refers especially to the view
