My motivation remains high when I have a social support system; when I become frustrated or doubtful of my abilities, my mentors typically provide inspiration and encouragement.

Key Accomplishments During the Practicum

It can be difficult to narrow down my accomplishments into specific areas, but I am especially proud of how I learned to manage the paperwork and administrative duties necessary to keeping patient data safe.

The first accomplishment I will mention is learning how to chart. This may seem relatively insignificant, but it is the cornerstone of effective practice. Second, I learned how to conduct intakes to the point where I was performing them smoothly. Related to charting, the computer system is crucial for keeping client data accurate, preventing errors, and ensuring continuity of care when clients transfer to another facility, system, or geographic area. Finally, I learned how to lead group sessions. At first, I found group sessions challenging because I was nervous in front of so many people. After the first few sessions, my confidence grew, and I now envision myself leading groups regularly in the future.
