Professional Counseling: History, Roles, and Identity
Abstract
The relevance of counseling as a helping profession cannot be overstated. This is more so the case taking into consideration the role counseling plays towards the facilitation of the development of not only an individual but also a family or even a group. This text mainly concerns itself with role certification, licensure as well as accreditation play in the counseling profession. Further, I will also highlight how my experiences, thoughts, values, beliefs and personality influence my view of the world in conjunction with my role as a counselor.
Ethical Standards in Academic and Scientific Research
Ethical Standards in Research. One very important aspect of ethics in scientific research is the handling and reporting of the data in the research paper. Whilst this area does not involve any externalities in the preparation of the research paper, the liability of the data presented in the research completely lies upon the researcher. It is unethical to falsify or fabricate information in the research paper as research papers become external sources for future references in other research projects. Any false or fabricated information can mislead the user of the research paper, and can consequently result in an incorrect research report being prepared on the basis of the existent research paper, thus giving rise to a domino effect.
Doctors, Ethics, and the Duty of Care in Modern Medicine
Are young students studying to become doctors receiving enough training in ethics? Are doctors who are in practice always using ethical strategies for their patients? the answer to those questions are presented in this paper, and it is clear that ethical considerations need more attention in the medical field. Not that all doctors are unethical, but it is apparent that some doctors have some ethical issues to work out.
