Homeopathic Remedies for Anxiety Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a branch of medical science which mainly deals with medicines. This system was invented by a German medical practitioner, Samuel Christian Hahnemann (1755). It is combination of Greek words Homeo and Pathos. Homeo means similar in nature and pathos means treatment or cure. Together the term Homeopathy means a branch of medical science which cures the disease through similar effect. In this system of medicines, the drug is similar to the disease in nature and the effects produced by the medicine are used to nullify the effects of the disease. Hence it follows the rule of 'like can cure like'. Homeopathy enjoys much fame among the medical practitioners and the patients because of its effective healing capacity without any harmful side effects. People believe in its harm free nature, hence, prefer to use it (as cited in Shand et al., 2005).

Underlying principle of homeopathy

The body always remains busy with its systems and to defeat the abnormalities produced in it. In its effort, certain reactions take place in the body and appear as changed body temperature, discharge, pain, inflammation etc. These symbols are not the sole indication of some abnormality taking place in the body. At times, they tend to give the message that the self healing system of the body is not functioning well. This is the time, when the self healing system needs strength which can be provided by drugs. The most effective drugs in strengthening self healing system are homeopathic drugs. The self healing activities can be performed by mind as well. The entire field of Homeopathy is based on this concept of physiology hence the homeopathic remedies for the brain activities and functions are primarily the most effect remedies (Shang et al., 2005).

Based on the concept of self healing system, the entire science of disease is perceptually transformed. Instead of abnormality, the diseases are more understood as adaptive procedures which tend to normalize body conditions. Discharges are regarded as an activity in which the body tends to get rid of dead cells, viruses and bacteria. Inflammation is the indication that the body is busy in burning out, heating up or walling off the foreign agents and infective matters. Pathogens and irritants are quickly removed from the body when the body is regarded as suffering from Diarrhea. Breathing passages are cleared through coughing. External and internal stress is relieved through high level of blood pressure (Shang et al., 2005).

Symptom is a Greek word which means signal or sign. It is something that occurs with the complementary completion of something else. Its occurrence is a signal of occurrence of something else but its disappearance does not necessarily mean the associated process has also stopped. Symptom is an indication of something or some abnormality. Turning the indicator or symptom off does not automatically remove the abnormality. Symptom is related to both disease and healing process. If abnormality is removed, the indicator will definitely go off. So the focus should be on removing abnormality and not the symptom. Ignoring the symptom or efforts to cure the mere symptom may lead to even more undesired situations. It is quite possible that through homeopathic drug therapy, symptom is removed but the underlying disease is present and continues to remain unknown, as the symptom has also vanished (Shang et al., 2005).

It is common perception among the people that conventional medicine leads to side effects. The medical science denies presence of any effect known as side effect. It states the people consider undesirable effects as side effects. The desired effects are positively correlated to the drug while undesired effects are named as side effects. It is almost impossible to separate these two types of effects. It can be further elaborated with the example of bomb blast. The main effects include damage to buildings while the side effect could include the demise of innocent people, the remnants of hazardous material in the breathing air, dust, pollution, etc. (Shang et al., 2005).

The philosophy of side effects is directly linked with theory of symptoms. The conventional medicines usually focus on removing the illness symptoms. As a result, the abnormality is further worsened in the body and the patients consider them as side effects of the medicine. It explains the reason of increased rate of chronic disease among people of tender age. It also explains the reason of increasing rate of mental illness. The symptoms of physical illness are removed apparently and are transformed into mental illness (Shang et al., 2005).

The symptoms of the disease should not be suppressed so that the disease is not deepened in the body. The purpose of the medicine should be to strengthen the body's self healing, brain...

...

The strong self healing system can better fight against the illness. This is where the Homeopathy medicines play the core role (Shang et al., 2005).
Treatments

It is quite possible in Homeopathy that two patients with similar illness and symptoms are offered different treatments. It is because the Homeopathic medicine is prescribed on the basis of temperament and character of the person who is being treated (Glaser, 2005).

Before prescribing any Homeopathic medicine, the Homeopathic doctors collect detailed medical history of the patients. Their queries are not only confined to physical health but also associated with emotional and mental well being. They ask questions about life circumstances and delve into emotional and physical illness of the patient under study and treatment. The data about body type, personal liking and disliking, innate dispositions is also gathered and analyzed. The information obtained through queries and analysis help in developing the overall picture of individual's health. This portrait is matched with Homeopathic system of medicine. The medicine which appears to be the closest match is prescribed for the patient. There are numerous techniques for identifying simillimum, or the remedy that is most-similar, though some homeopaths at times differ. This is to a degree due to the concept of "totality of symptoms" and its overwhelming complexity. That is, not all symptoms are used by homeopaths, but they choose for themselves those symptoms that are most distinctive. The case analysis's subjective evaluation depends on experience and understanding of the homeopath doing the analysis (Glaser, 2005).

In context to approaches to homeopathic healing, some differences are present amongst homeopaths. Referred to as "clinical" homeopathy, this form involves combinations of remedies to address the various symptoms of an illness. While on the other hand, "classical" homeopathy usually entails thorough check-ups of patients, their medical records, family history etc. The patient is kept under observation. During that period, occasional doses of a single medication are given to the patient (Glaser, 2005).

Homeopathic Treatment of Anxiety Disorder

Undoubtedly all of us experience the fast paced life. There are constant pressures at home and work that makes us dreadful and sometimes doubtful, but this anxiety becomes troublesome when it starts to control our behavior, and begins meddling with family life, school, and work. Different symptoms and feelings are incorporated in anxiety, as it is an emotional turmoil, and it affects both the mental cognition of the individual as well as their nervous or reactionary systems in the body. Not only are adults the ones who face stress, also vulnerable to stress are children. Anxiety experienced by some children experience may cause them to struggle to make changes to new circumstances such as making friends and school. They may also feel an unusual level of insecurity like have severe fright of the dark, animals, insects, or other living things. All these aspects are directly related to their mental abilities to cope and their nervous systems, hence this paper will aim to highlight the homeopathic remedies for anxiety disorders that directly and positively affect the brain and nervous systems of individuals. The paper will thus highlight the types, causes and symptoms of such anxiety disorders followed by the homeopathic approach and analysis (Glaser, 2005).

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are both genetically transmitted behavioral and neurological conditions that most often manifest themselves in childhood and may continue into adulthood. Walters notes ADHD is considered a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act, affecting approximately three to ten percent of all school-aged children. Brown further fine tunes this number, citing a U.S. Centers for Disease Control study which found that
