SUMMARY
Because the Duluth model presents the opportunity for 'real' change in the lives of men who batter and as well in the lives of families in a process of restoration of the family, this study is important not only at the level of the family but is important for society as well. Children and women who are from broken homes that have been broken due to unresolved domestic abuse more times than not live in poverty however, the potential for family restoration through ending the cycle of domestic violence from male batterers offers new hope that will impact the community and the world around these individuals who learn how to live without perpetuating domestic violence battering.
