Acceptance Letter to Physician Assistance School
I can still remember his face that day: ashen, writhing in pain, tremulous. It was a good face -- one that had reflected love and caring to almost everyone who had known him, one that had contended daily with a debilitating condition that he fought to hide in his zest for life. It was the face of my father, the man who had raised me. And now, after dealing with cardiac disease for most of his adult life, my father was gone, one of the many claimed by this treatable condition which left me, like so many other caring family members, with nothing but memories…and an ardent determination that will not be denied.
Ever since the recent passing of my father, I have been almost singled-mindedly devoted to becoming a physician's assistant so that I can do all I can to ensure that others do not end up like me -- mourning the passing of a loved one....
My father's life meant so much to me that once he passed I decided that his death -- and his memory -- would mean just as much to me. Therefore, I resolved to achieve my longstanding goal of becoming a physician's assistant so that I can use my medical talent to help educate the world about cardiac disease, and other medical conditions that can produce such a devastating impact on people's lives.
I have desired to work as a physician's assistant ever since graduating from high school. I took a number of classes in science and math to aid me in this endeavor, and have been working in the health care industry for the past two years at the prestigious Beth Israel hospital. Although most of my responsibilities involve working in the Cathlab, one of my favorite parts of my job is interacting with patients.
