In the Philippines, there was former president Corazon Aquino and the current president Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo who both have proven that they can be in control and bring back the glory to the country. Other countries that have had a woman president as are: India, Chile, Liberia, Finland, Panama, Sri Lanka and Ireland.
Hence, it is already proven that any woman has a chance of becoming a president if she can prove that she is credible and capable of doing so. Women are perceived as an equal ally of men nowadays. They are not anymore the weaker sex. They have already gained the respect and trust by the populace - men and women, young and adults.
This goes the same with the idea of having a black man as a president. Any black man who thinks that he can accept...
However, it has been a continuing issue that black people are still seen as the "second-class" citizen in America. but, this has been also changing dramatically. Now, equality and democracy is already being followed by most people. In fact, there have been several black people who have held and/or are holding various powerful positions in the government nowadays. This alone is enough proof that black men or women can as well hold the top most positioning a country - which is the post for presidency.
