A standoff is continuing between Occupy Dunedin protesters and the authorities. The protesters' focus is corporate greed, social inequality, "free market" economics, and environmental issues. The Dunedin action was one of many worldwide, as the "Occupy Wall Street" movement in the United States spread. In New Zealand, there were other protests in Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Christchurch, and Invercargill.
