Wireless Communications Term Paper

¶ … technological trends of wireless communication, industry status, and job value it offers in the professional workforce. Wireless technology provides a real-time solution to the mobility of communication protocols such as voice and data exchange/transfer. This was made possible with the utilization of devices like smart phones and computer networks that employ the technology of transfer via satellite or via technological innovations such as the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WAP, and Wireless-Internet-On-A-Chip. Hence, wireless technology brought the advent of state-of-the-art wireless communication.

Wireless communication allows communication anytime, anywhere, and in cases nowadays, in many modes. Before, the most advanced form of communication perhaps was the telephone, whereby two persons from different locations are able to communicate real-time. Soon after, computers with network connections, such as the Internet, became the mode of communication, characterized by efficiency offering cheap cost of communication. And as technology continuously advances, along with the increasing distribution of information, more and more developments of new and better products and services are the focus of every company in the industry.

Wireless communication is rapidly growing in its technological elements of wireless products and the number of consumers who need an efficient kind of technology. The impact of its development and the importance it brings to many consumers is undeniably evident in the demand for more wireless data capabilities.

The Demand for Wireless Communication - The Anytime, Anywhere Access

For some years now, wireless communication has emerged as the most promising development in the industry of information technology and communication services. Due to a wide range of mobile and wireless handheld products that allow access and communication of data from any location, many professionals are now driven with the desire of having the ability of sending and receiving information, whether personal or work related, anytime and anywhere. Some of the devices that provide the convenience of communication mobility are notebook computers, handheld palmtops, and mobile/cellular phones.

Aside from...

The role at which wireless networks play in the age of information mobility is essential and inseparable. As new technologies are continuously being developed, more competing networks will become available for users to choose from.
The effectiveness of wireless products relies on the quality of wireless networks such as the speed of data transmission, the efficiency of connections, security of data, and the ability to accommodate and support the latest features of wireless devices. The convergence of a state-of-the-art wireless devices and flexible high-quality network services has been the potential concern of users who aspire to utilize wireless communication, for it will enable them to increase their productivity and in turn will render benefits to a company's market value. The overall impact of wireless communication will not be apparent without the proper convergence of a good device with a good quality network service.

Wireless Trends - A Wireless World

The current trends in wireless technology have provided great convenience to many users. Powered by wireless networks, wireless capabilities have been providing state-of-the-art information access that is made available to many establishments nowadays.

WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) is a network that caters to wireless connectivity. Traditionally, a local area network would consist of wires connecting each terminal to a local server. WLAN is designed to make such connections wireless. In this way, anyone with a notebook computer and a wireless network card would still be connected to a network even if he roams around his office.

Some airports have already implemented such network as well. Travelers can easily connect to the Internet while waiting for their flights. Further, some hotels are also installed with WLAN in their conference rooms to enable web conferencing for their business executive guests. Most coffee shops too are equipped with wireless networking.

As mentioned in the previous topic, another trend of wireless technology is the convergence of handheld devices…
