It is obvious that the two of them share a very close, special bond and to Jane's credit, she has already made plans to continue mentoring her Little Sister on an informal basis if that is ever necessitated by her many other responsibilities and educational pursuits. We genuinely consider Jane a tremendously valuable asset to our YMCA family and we have every reason to expect that she will be extremely successful as a student at the University of San Diego and in all her future academic, personal, and professional pursuits and that she will continue to contribute more than her share to her community.

More particularly, Jane is an accomplished Swim Instructor with more than 300 hours of training; she is certified by the American Red Cross as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor, as well as in adult, child, and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). We were lucky enough to have Jane on our staff through the Summer seasons of 2005 (May - August), 2007 (May-July), and 2008 (May - August). During that time, Jane ingratiated herself beautifully into the YMCA family, working primarily as a swim instructor for children aged 2 through 12. Jane has a natural talent for teaching children to improve their aquatic abilities, for achieving results, and for incorporating her own personally developed techniques within her instructional methods.
