Experiential learning is often more time-consuming for both the teacher as well as the student. The teacher must engage in more creative assignment creation and grading techniques. Another important resource is a willingness of the community to work with educators. This can include a teaching hospital that fosters the development of new nursing students, a local workplace that helps young people volunteer and find service-oriented jobs, and the financial resources to create laboratories within the classroom using new media as well as traditional book and exams.

Administrators who are willing to incorporate outside events into the budget, department heads who do not see creative exercises as a waste of time are all important 'human' resources to create the university of tomorrow. Young and older adults alike, anxious that their degree will translate into a profession, are likely to be more eager students in the experiential classroom. They are fighting for their future, learning crucial skills, as well striving to get a better grade. Experiential learning is about understanding, not merely pleasing the teacher -- it is about pleasing yourself.
