The threat of greenhouse gases show how, even in an era where technology seems to allow us to circumvent the pressure of nature -- from the need to be in darkness, to remain in one place, or to eat limited foodstuffs -- nature's demands will always 'win.' But it is really not that nature is 'winning,' rather than natural structures have needs and the planet can only supply finite demands of a single species. No innovation of humankind can enables us to ignore nature's demands, whether they are made by geological configurations or the ozone layer.
