While students are keeping their eyes on the prize in this case exam exemption they end up building their traits and character which in turn are useful in their future whether they are moving on to post secondary education or even if they are entering the workforce (Dawe, 2012). There can also be final exam alternatives that can be used to asses the concept of comprehension; teachers may also use other measures, which exempts all those who make the choice of taking an alternative to the final exam.at the same time exam exemptions provide an opportunity for students to take their electives in advance. Instead of waiting for the next semester students who are exemption from taking final exams can begin familiarizing themselves with the course work of the next semester hence providing them with the opportunity to take their elective in advance. This provides teachers with the opportunity of coming up with schedules that are more customized and which will meet the requirements of each of the students accordingly (Dawe, 2012).
I therefore strongly believe that exam exemptions force students to work harder in the process of their learning and perform well so that they will be able to maintain a high grade. After stressing and working very hard for several months I think the only fair thing to do is letting the students relax by exempting them from exams. While rewarding students when they work hard, exempting them from exams might just be the greatest perk of their high school education.
