In this particular article, this conversion of data helped distinguish some important factors that contributed to establishing relationships that the researchers were looking for. The study itself interviewed 411 adolescent mothers to gather the specific data they needed to make their case. Research questions are often like puzzles, requiring many varying pieces to be connected together in a cohesive fashion that promotes a reasonable argument. Kershaw's et al. (2010) article produced a key piece to my hypothesis by providing a clear correlation between STDs, adolescent mothers and their ability to use their relationship skills, adding a key component to constructing a more complete argument to the topic.
