The Importance of this Topic in Studying Criminal Behavior
Understanding juvenile delinquency will help to improve our ability to determine what individuals are most likely to become criminals as adults. This is based upon three different reasons to include: it will offer insights about their behavior, the role that the environment is playing in their development and how family could influence these people. When it comes to offering insights about their behavior, this establishes specific techniques for understanding what kinds of thinking and actions are common in those who are more likely to become anti-social. Once this takes place, we can be able to decide who is most likely to engage in illegal activities and can have some kind of intervention program. As far as the environment is concerned, studying this topic will help us to see how: the neighborhoods and the friends of the individual will influence if they will turn to crime at an early age. This is when it will be clear about their role in pressuring someone to become involved in these activities....
In the case of looking at how the family will influence individuals, this is when we are focusing on the way young adults will interact with their parents and siblings pertaining to the world around them. Where, we can see how this influencing their mental attitude and how they are dealing with these issues. These elements are important, because the combination of them will establish specific factors that will affect who is most likely to become involved in criminal activity. This is the point that some kind of effective intervention program can be established over the long-term. (McCord, 1991, pp. 397 -- 417)
Clearly, understanding the impact of juvenile delinquency will help communities to protect their children. As, this will allow them to see specific warning signs of: who could be most affected. Once this takes place, it means that various programs can be established to reach out to the most at risk youth.
