Crime Rate analysis of Beaverton, or Beaverton, a rather large city by Oregonian standards with a population in 2006 of 87,181, is also no stranger to crime, though it is by no means overrun with it. During the entire year of 2006, law enforcement knows of only two hundred and eight violent crimes. This is less than one per day, and only one violent crime for about every four hundred and twenty people. Among these crimes, there was only one murder or non-negligent manslaughter. Beaverton is the largest city in Oregon with such a low homicide rate, and in fact there are several smaller cities and town with much higher crime and murder rates.

Beaverton seems poised and able to effectively combat such violent crimes in a way that leaves other cities far behind.

Their record is less stellar in the area of non-violent crimes, however. It appears to be about average when it comes to instances of property crime and arson, and has higher rates of burglary and larceny and theft, too. Just from looking at the way these crime statistics compare to those of other similar-sized cities, it would be reasonable to assume that Beaverton is slightly more affluent than average. The rate and type of crime is skewed more towards the profit-driven types of crime and less to those that are generally associated with "fits of passion," gang behavior, and drug use (especially murder and robbery).
