Marketing of Morrisania

Morrisania is, more than anything else, a community, albeit one with significant historical and cultural importance. Situated in southwestern Bronx in New York City, the history of this neighborhood goes back to the 17th century, when it was populated and it belonged to the Morris family. Besides being such a historical place, it has also provided the best environment for a continuous mix of people, cultures and civilizations, with Europeans settling in this area in the 19th and 20th centuries and mixing with existing cultures already present.

However, recently, an increased necessity to revive Morrisania has become clear. The marketing plan to revive the Morrisania community will be based on selling luxury products, which can both increase revenues for the community and awareness for the area. The luxury products will be based on two main categories: American history and American culture. There can be several categories of products, including European products from the 19th century, products that were common historically in Morrisania later on etc.

An important part of the product portfolio can be represented by historically valuable books describing the community in Morrisania throughout the different times. The best place to start is perhaps with a copy of the declaration of independence, signed by one of the former owners of the location in which Morrisania is now. This can continue with other culturally important books that give a background on the area and the customs of the people living here.

The important thing about this sales plan is that it will need to present the historical and cultural perspective, so as to reach the primary objective of increasing awareness for this area.

2) There are three main important reasons for which luxury products will be sold in Morrisania. The first of these is, as previously mentioned, to increase awareness of the area. Many inhabitants of New York City, not to mention the rest of the United States, are not really fully aware of what Morrisania is or what it means for the historical and cultural development of the United States as a whole. The fact that such products will be sold can carry on the knowledge on Morrisania throughout the country and invite more visitors to come and personally discover the cultural riches and developments in this neighborhood.
