Key Messages
Social work has played an important role in improving the social order for the last few centuries with emphasize on the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The key messages of the readings provided relate to the significance of social work in environments where it is needed the most and to how it managed to become one of the world's main points of interest as a consequence of the way that it addresses problems likely to appear as a consequence of individuals being underprivileged.
One of the main points of focus of these readings concerns the effect that poverty can have on vulnerable groups. Social work thus addresses these respective issues and attempt to provide the world with better living conditions.

Social workers often struggle to help individuals in need and in many cases they lack the resources that would enable them to do so. Even with this, they concentrate on the resources they do have and concentrate on trying to use them however they can with the purpose to help deprived people.
3. Strengths and limitations
Limitations in this context would mainly be related to the degree to which social workers can identify situations when they are needed. Many people are reluctant to accept the fact that they need help or are simply in a position that does not provide them with the ability to reach out. When considering rural and remote areas in particular, it would appear that social workers are less likely to gain access to these regions. This leads to underprivileged individuals in need of assistance from social workers ending up worsening their condition.
