Socialization is a key part of personal and professional success in the 21st century. The adolescent period especially can be influential with regard to an individual's social development and social intelligence. People who develop healthy social behaviors during adolescence & early adulthood practice and refine them as adults. Effective and meaningful socialization does not occur purely by accident; there is an art, skill, and a science to socialization. The paper proposes to create a dance or appropriately aged social event for the students, staff, and parents. The research paper would be a document reflecting processes of event planning and organizational behavior. There is no reason why the party cannot be fun and memorable while also performing some kind of academic, intellectual, and/or social function as well. Therefore the proposed social event will be a leisure activity with some relative structure, direction, or objective. The objective is simply for people to circulate in various patterns and objectives to increase overall participation in the event from inception to execution and reflection.

Part II -- Rationale and Significance

Socialization during adolescence and young adulthood is a relevant issue for this author personally, but it has grown to be a fundamental element to personal and professional success in the 21st century. Most of the people in the world are in the midst of the digital or information age. Networking is not just a term for servers and IT. Professionals must know how to network, which often means both formal and informal socialization, to make contacts, secure deals, and it is generally a part of the international business practice. Learning to socialize well and to cultivate social intelligence is a profitable skill no matter what a person's interests are or even no matter how outgoing or secure they feel. It is possible to effectively socialize in pairs, small groups, and large groups. Networking clearly occurs online, too. Socialization involves confidence, public speaking, active listening, recognition and interpretation of body language/facial expressions, and more. Overall, it is a very stimulating experience for the senses. Socialization helps build personal relationships such as friendships and romantic relationships. Teenagers and young adults want to achieve all of these things, yet there are at a period of their lives where most of them are very conflicted and uncertain, yet they know they like to party and want to make friends. Socialization breaks down social barriers, real or imagined, and fosters connections that have the potential to pay off mutually in the future. We should care about socialization because it is an age old habit and process that has gotten supercharge and revamped in the modern day.

Part III -- Research Questions

What are the most important ways that the expectations of the students and the expectations for the staff & parents align? What are the most attractive incentives the party organizers can offer to increase the likelihood of attendance and moderate participation during the event? By what criteria and in which ways should the success of the event be evaluated or assessed?

Part IV -- Tentative Organization

The literature review would have to concisely yet succinctly cover an assortment of topics. There should be literature pertaining to adolescent and young adulthood development. There should be literature that represents current patterns or trends in 21st century socialization among this age group. There should be some literature about cross-generational socialization. Perhaps literature about partying for social change or a cause would be appropriate as well. The paper would also include literature that discusses organizational philosophies regarding organized leisure or entertainment activities.
