Plagiarism Effects on Students

Thus, there is certainly room for me to improve in my overall knowledge of the American Psychological Association and its stylistic guidelines for communicating with others. One of the most significant points of insight for me after taking this quiz is that I can certainly improve my knowledge of the citation style for this writing system.

There are so many different sources that one can utilize while writing research papers. Quite simply, I am not as fluent in the style required to cite these different sources as I could be. Traditionally, I believed that plagiarism resulted in a conscious desire on the part of an individual to not write his or her own material, and to simply copy the works of another.

This distinction, then, between plagiarizing and one's original compositions, was fairly enlightening to me.

One of the fundamental strategies that I could effect in order to improve my skills in the covered APA concepts in this quiz is to read other papers that have been published and which utilize the APA style manual correctly. This strategy will give me experience in seeing this style manual used properly. Moreover, I could even begin to specialize in the type of papers --and sources -- that I read about.

For instance, if I have an assignment in which I will need to analyze film sources or those which involve interviews, I can do a search for APA papers that utilize those sort of sources. Also, I can do a search via respected and well-known search engines such as EBSCO that is related to the subject of whatever hypothetical assignment I am working on.

Doing so will enable me to multitask in a way so that not only will I learn more about how to utilize these APA sources that I am not familiar with, but also I can possibly gain some sources that can inform the particular paper on which I am working. As such, there are a few resources that I can deploy to improve my skills. As a matter of necessity, these resources are well aligned with the aforementioned strategy.
