It can also happen that major depression comes once to the life of the person due to some serious happening, and if this is so, then special care should be taken to get her round the problem. The general view of the world is always self-centered and this is probably true for everybody. At the same time, this viewpoint of life also causes us to have images of the world that are not true. Sometimes this leads us to believe that we are special people sent into this world for a specific purpose, and even when we do not see others acting in that manner, we keep talking about it ourselves. These false impressions makes us feel that we are entitled to special treatment, and at the same time when we do not get the benefit that we are expecting due to our special status, we feel cheated from what we should get in our own right. This self-centered perspective drives all our reactions to the world. This also determines our reaction to others keeping that in view, as also to the events that are happening near us. Any comment by others regarding our claim determines our reaction to that individual. This reaction depends on all aspects of their reaction - their talk, their treatment and whether that makes us feel good or bad, and the amount of recognition they give us. Thus the success of this individual depends to a large extent...
(Resolving Self-Sabotage)
While we all know that what he is saying is not true and will not happen, it is important to show him a certain amount of deference and make him believe that we fully believe whatever the person is saying. This is the only way of getting close to that person in terms of his mind. Without this relationship, the person will believe that we are his enemy and what we are doing will ultimately only hurt him. This will make him react negatively to whatever we suggest, and it is better that we remain on his right side if we are going to be involved in his treatment. It may be difficult for some, but well the nurse here lives in a strange world, where the residents act in a peculiar way, and have their own beliefs. It is sometimes said that we are all mad - only to different levels and in different ways.
