Teaching Besides nursing, teaching is perhaps one of the most noble and worthy professions a person might choose. Indeed, those who have a particular love for people and children tend to choose this profession. For this reason, a particular kind of love for a very specific demographic of children is necessary to be attracted to the special education classroom. Those who choose to enter this field of teaching will not only need to be aware of the specific reasons why they chose this profession, but also the challenges involved and the skills needed to handle these challenges.

In this country, we should never forget to further and improve the access of all human beings to their basic rights. Without these, the United States would not be the country it has become or support the democratic ideals it does. This is my main and primary reason for wanting to become involved in special education.
Of course, I am deeply aware of the challenges involved in teaching a class with special needs children. Depending on the nature of such classes, the challenges would probably differ. A "special education" class, for example, may refer to a class that includes children with special needs, but where all children do not have these needs. Indeed, some special needs children are included in mainstream classes because of the high level of their functioning or as a result of school policy that requires such children to be taught in an inclusionary way.
