Added to this the adult learning environment will be inclusive of individuals who are technology savvy as well as individuals, especially seniors, who have never mastered the use of a computer or Smart-phone. Classrooms should be equipped with computers to enable adult learners to utilize the computer in their learning experience. The first assumption of Andragogy is that the adult learner is able to provide direction to their own learning and that the adult learner has, over time, gained many life experiences that assist in their learning. The third assumption is that the adult learner's needs in learning are linked directly to their shift in their role in society and fourth that the adult learner has the intentions of applying their learning very quickly. Finally, the adult learner is assumed to be someone that is intrinsically rather than extrinsically motivated. This model of learning is attributed to Malcolm Knowles. The primary principles of the Androgogy learning model include that adults should plan as well as evaluation their own learning and that all life experience, both positive and negative formulates the basis for adult learning. Therefore with these principles in mind, it will be of utmost importance that the adult learning environment is providing learning that will assist the adults in gaining knowledge, skills and experience that is immediately beneficial to them and which is highly relevant in their roles which are understood to be undergoing a shift or change. Adult learners should be involved in directly…

Adult learning self-assessments can prove influential for motivating students (Stipek, Recchia, & McClintic, 1992, cited in Ross, 2006, p. 7). The assessment developed for this assignment was designed to enable students to provide feedback both about their instructor as well as about the course they took from their instructor. Assessments help students who might not be able to convey their learning progress otherwise (Loacke, 2004). Specifically, this assessment was an

Adult Learning Training and Adult Learning Operational processes and technologies are constantly evolving and more at speeds never before seen in organizations. It is more often than not these changes require the development of new skills sets from employees. Since change in the external environment are now virtually imminent then training and skill development can serve as the one of the primary methods of overcoming organizational change (Buckley & Caple, 2009). This type of education has worked best within societies that contain large amounts of oppressive practices, where the oppressed need to learn some autonomy. More developed countries however tend to favor the more traditional types of education (Werner, 2000). Conclusion It is important to assess the specific needs of one's own educational environment. Some environments, as seen above, would benefit more from the behaviorist philosophy than from the humanist philosophy, and

In response to this awareness, reform efforts have been implemented in order to meet the needs of students. As reform efforts have been considered, increasing attention has been directed toward assessing the influence of learning styles on academic performance. The term 'learning styles' has been used to refer to the ways in which individuals

Second, it suggests that once an appropriate curriculum has been compiled -- one that produces the appropriate results -- then this very same curriculum should produce the same results every time it is employed properly. And third, it suggests that language itself cannot be conceived of as anything other than a response to an external stimulus; therefore, we, as teachers, should not be concerned with the internal, conceptual aspects

Adult Learning: Andragogy Adult learning as a concept was first introduced in Europe in the 50s (QOTFC, 2007). But it was in the 70s when American practitioner and theorist of adult education Malcolm Knowles formulated the theory and model he called andragogy. He defined andragogy as "the art and science of helping adults learn (Zmeryov, 1998 & Fidishun, 2000 as qtd in QOTFC)." It consists of assumptions on how adults
