¶ … passion for the project, natural curiosity, well-founded skepticism, and a good memory. Possessing all of these can actually aid in the ability to have more effective research. The passion will encourage the researcher to explore more thoroughly than one who is not passionate or interested. He will make use of the resources available to him -- such as the university library or the online databases where relevant literature is stored. His curiosity will prompt him to ask questions that others might not think to ask. Skepticism allows the researcher to distrust results and work to make sure they are conclusive, and memory helps to connect the dots of data and findings so that a clear picture can emerge (Holton, Swanson, 2005). Another good practice is to have a good research design. A good design will serve as a quality frame that helps to keep the study together, whereas a poor research design will be like a fence that is missing parts -- the study will spill out in too many directions at once, leaving the reader feeling confused.

As far as ethical procedures go, one should always cite one's sources/references whenever they are used. If studies are conducted using participants, informed consent should...

...

And identities should always be protected so that participants are not hurt by the study if it is published (Bryman, Bell, 2003).
If these steps are followed, a quality research project can be undertaken with positive results provided. As each point flows into the next, it is important to see how all aspects of research fit together to make the entire project sound and cohesive from start to finish.

Features of a logic diagram consist of a column for data, one for findings, another for conclusions, and a fourth for solutions. These columns and the individual boxes of information within them are connected by arrows, so that the information within one square leads logically to another set of information in the adjacent column and that one to the next set of information in the next column and so on. It provides a logical map like a connect-the-dots picture of how the study appears (Vandenbosch, 2003).

The benefits of using a diagram are that they give the researcher a clear expression of how a study hangs together. Instead of being tempted to draw conclusions out of thin air or from pre-conceived notions,…
