I agree with the remarks made about the importance of strong communication skills for leaders and how biblical principles can guide communication strategies. The Bible offers numerous examples of leaders who effectively communicated with their followers by being honest, understanding, supportive, and having a clear vision.

As mentioned, Zechariah 8:16 emphasizes the importance of honesty in relationships. This principle applies not only to leaders but to everyone, as honesty builds trust and fosters better communication. Proverbs 12:22 also states that \\\"The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy,\\\" further emphasizing the importance of truthfulness.

Furthermore, Proverbs 15:1 emphasizes the importance of speaking with understanding and a supportive attitude, stating that \\\"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.\\\" This principle can be applied to leadership situations where leaders need to communicate with their team members in a way that shows empathy and support.

Ultimately, as Christians, our role as leaders is to be good stewards of the gifts God has given us, including our communication abilities. Colossians 4:6 reminds us to \\\"Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.\\\" This passage emphasizes the importance of being intentional about our communication style and always striving to speak in a way that reflects God\\\'s grace.

Overall, the four major parts of leadership communication skills identified by Van Wart - oral, written, listening, and nonverbal communication - all play important roles in effective communication. However, I would say that oral communication is often the most important, as it allows leaders to engage with others in real-time and to build relationships through direct interaction. Still, t\\\'s important to note that effective communication is not just about speaking and conveying information, but also about active listening and understanding the perspectives of others (Gorman et al., 2021).

I agree that visibility is a critical aspect of effective leadership communication, as it ensures that messages are received and understood by the intended audience. As your example highlights, failure to effectively communicate can result in confusion and missed opportunities. A good leader is one who is visible—but he also has to be engaged and have his finger on the pulse of the people. A visible but disengaged leader is just a figurehead and that can get followers talking about who is really in charge…which can be a big problem for morale and consensus building.

Still, I would also say that communication is another important aspect. The biblical passage of Moses and Aaron highlights the importance of communication in leadership. In Exodus 4:10-, Moses expresses his concern about his lack of communication skills to God, stating, \\\"Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.\\\" In response, God appoints Aaron as Moses\\\'s spokesperson to help him communicate his message to the Israelites and Egyptians. This shows that the leader himself does not have to be eloquent—he just has to make sure he has the means to get the message out (Darics, 2020).
