This paper presents a personal analysis of a 360-degree assessment, a multisource feedback tool designed to provide comprehensive insight into job performance and leadership effectiveness. The author examines feedback received from multiple respondents, identifying key strengths in administrative management, delegation, and team communication. The analysis addresses alignment between self-perception and peer feedback, explores the ten brand attributes identified by assessors, and reflects on areas of disagreement with feedback results. The paper demonstrates how structured feedback mechanisms can clarify role expectations and inform professional development strategies.
Defining and clarifying each contributor's role on a team needs to be predicated on having a very clear perspective of how they are performing on the most important dimensions of their job. 360-degree assessments are designed to specifically provide insightful feedback and guide current progress and plans for future professional growth (Kincaid, 1999). Recently, a 360-degree assessment of my skills and performance was completed and the results are summarized below.
Within the team role, the respondents to my 360-degree assessment perceive me as an Administrator who excels at managing administrative tasks, responding to questions, and keeping team members informed. My strategy in managing my work is to focus on the highest priority projects first, treating time as an extremely valuable resource. This aspect of my work and leadership style came out clearly in the 360-degree feedback process as well.
In managing my team, I believe that delegating projects completely to them and having each team member take ownership is critically important. I also believe that being transparent in how I manage time, money, and how our department sets and exceeds performance targets is essential. These insights are consistent with the six skills found during the 360-degree review process.
One of the most interesting aspects of the 360-degree feedback process involves the brand attributes others attribute to me. They are that I am loyal, conservative, organized, successful, adaptable, flexible, humble, motivating, trustworthy, and funny. These are attributes I agree with and believe accurately reflect how I approach my professional responsibilities.
