Experiential learning is the process of comprehending ideas based the experiences of the individual to understand the material. It focuses on how these factors and the practices of the teacher could provide a broader understanding of what is occurring. This means using different observations and interactions combined with instruction to enhance the student's ability to recall key idea. In many cases, internships and on-the-job training will involve utilizing these ideas to enhance the person's capacity to remember and apply important concepts on their own. (Wilson, 2006) ("Motivational Theory," 2013)

When this happens, they can more effectively utilize these skills to help them in the future by recollecting these experiences, emotions, feeling and thoughts. During this process, there is a focus on understanding the needs of student, curriculum, educator and resources. This makes learning comprehension more effective by integrating key concepts with these experiences. (Wilson, 2006) ("Motivational Theory," 2013)

Explanation of why this choice is an optimal fit with the target population

This is an ideal fit for the target group by taking their experiences and building upon them. These insights enable the individual to make a direct link between key concepts and those of the curriculum. This choice is an optimal fit by taking specific experiences and applying them to the person's unique learning style. ("Motivational Theory," 2013)

When this happens, their ability to understand and utilize select ideas will enhance their ability to recall them are much stronger. Evidence of this can be seen with insights provided by Kolb (2005) who said, "Educators need to focus on the concept of learning...

(Kolb, 2005) These ideas work well with a target population by creating a customized strategy for reaching out to specific segments utilizing a format which is based upon their learning styles. Explain how components of the theory are incorporated to enhance understanding of the material presented for the target population

The components of the theory are integrated together to offer a better understanding of what is happening and the long-term effects on everyone. This is achieved by utilizing hands on training to give the individual better insights about how to apply key ideas and practices. These techniques allow someone to make direct associations with key ideas and their importance to stakeholders. This is taking place by building off of their concrete experiences, reflective observations, abstract conceptualization and active experimentation. (Kolb, 2013) ("Motivational Theory," 2013)

Concrete experience provides a basic foundation for understanding key ideas. This helps the student to build off them in order to gain a better feel and comprehension of the material. Reflective observation is watching others or developing observations based upon a person's experiences. Abstract conceptualization is when new ideas are introduced to help the individual learn new concepts and connect them with what they already know.
