Risk Assessment and Project Quality Planning
A review of the events thus far
The review is showing that the greatest threats are from terrorism and natural disasters. These have the potential to devastate the local economy and negatively impact first responders. To deal with them requires everyone thinking proactively. This is accomplished by understanding the role of the different stakeholders and coordinating them with each other. Once this takes place, is the point the various events can be controlled and the underlying amounts of collateral damage is mitigated. In these cases, local officials must be prepared to work with the private sector, nonprofits and citizens to decrease the risks. This means that they must establish a chain of command, procedures for identifying critical challenges and techniques for adjusting with a host of contingencies. The state will play a secondary role by providing additional support and funding. During and after the disaster, this will enables everyone to work together and limit the negative effects on stakeholders. (Perry, 2003, pp. 336-350) (Wang, 2014, pp. 44-50)
