Food-borne diarrheal disease

I agree that most food-borne diseases are preventable. This can be done by implementing primary prevention methods such as establishing policies for safe food handling, developing requirements for food safety inspections, and health education. According to the Centers for Disease Control (2020) reports, any individual consuming contaminated foods can be affected; however, some people have a huge risk of contracting the food-borne illness, such as people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women.

Food-borne illnesses are caused by unsafe sources, poor personal hygiene, and improper cooking. Food-borne diseases can be prevented by always washing hands thoroughly before handling food. It can also be prevented by washing utensils, hot water, and soap surfaces. According to Mark 7:4-5, The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders. When they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles. It is essential to wash vegetables and fruits before consumption thoroughly. Avoid touching your mouth or face when preparing food. Always cover food or refrigerate (Lai et al., 2020). Because cross-contamination is one of the leading causes of food-borne diseases, it is always important to keep food separately.

According to Genesis 1and 2, God created all bacteria as exemplary life forms. Many bacteria are beneficial to man and nature, while other bacteria are pathogenic. When these bacteria contact the consumed food, they can cause food-borne illnesses. Food-borne illnesses indeed have many economic effects. They can strain healthcare systems and cause decreased productivity and unemployment when factories, food processing plants, or restaurants are closed for food safety investigations.
