The more users need to access data from the source of information in group collaboration, the longer the queue will become and the longer waiting time there will be for the users, thus affecting the capability of information system to quickly serve the users with information they need.
Another drawback of group collaboration is the possibility of disabling all its users when lost of data or corruption of data occurs. Because group collaboration makes use of single source of information, once the source encounters a problem, all the users will be affected. Moreover, an information system using the group collaboration approach prevents local autonomy of users since there is a single source of information which must then present information in a standardized format to cater to the general needs of the users.
