Hypothetical Agency XXX is a provider of behavioral parenting interventions meant to equip parents whose children present with diverse behavioral problems with the various skills and capabilities meant to empower them into bringing about change in as far as the behavior of their children is concerned. It would be prudent to note that present research indicates that some of the externalizing problems among young people that parents encounter on a regular basis relate to, amongst other things; hyperactivity, poor impulse control, as well as defiance and aggression (Taylor, Asgary-Eden, Lee, and LaRoche, 2014). For this reason, the relevance of deploying the relevant interventions in efforts to reign in such concerns cannot be overstated. This, according to Taylor, Asgary-Eden, Lee, and LaRoche (2014) is more so the case given the need to ensure that these concerns are not carried into adulthood if and when they become chronic.

It should, however, be noted that there is need for Agency XXX to assess the effectiveness of its behavioral parenting interventions so as to make a determination as to whether there is need for adaptations going forward. Thus, the all-important question on this front happens to be; ‘are clients getting better?’ To answer this question, there is need to assess program or intervention outcomes. With this in mind, the agency would need to gather and assess information within four broad domains. Questionnaires would be developed to assess the aspects highlighted below;

1. Has the parent’s expectations of children changed? Has the parent discarded unrealistic expectations, i.e. with regard to expectations that do not match children’s’ capabilities on the developmental front.

2. Has the parent charged his or her empathy towards the needs of children? For instance, does the parent better comprehend the needs of children?
