¶ … manage my time. While I was not surprised with the results, I still found them extremely helpful in devising an action plan that can help improve my grades and general approach toward school. For instance, I am aware that I crammed for exams and that I am a fast reader, but I didn't really know how to apply that knowledge toward improving my study skills. The areas in which I scored best include reading comprehension, reading speed, test preparation, and test anxiety. In each of these areas, my scores reflected my personal strengths and after scoring the inventory, I did not need to read about improving these areas. For example, I scored well in reading comprehension, as I can easily grasp the main idea or ideas in a piece of writing. In fact, I do tend to do well on reading comprehension exercises because they come naturally to me, not because I necessarily work harder at them. This is because many of the tests we take in school are timed and I have had to train myself to read faster so that I definitely finish answering all the questions. In fact, I would like to learn how to read even faster, especially when it comes to reading literature. In general, reading speed and reading comprehension are two of my main study strengths, and they will come in handy in college.
A also scored well on test taking, test preparation, and test anxiety. Although I do feel slightly anxious before tests, my level of anxiety is quite normal and it doesn't interfere with my performance very often. I now reducing my anxiety even more will help me improve my test performance, but this is one area that doesn't need too much work. The same is true for other aspects of test-taking, because I usually prepare myself well for tests.
