The field of organizational learning looks at ways in which to design organizations so that they accomplish their purpose successfully give confidence to people to reach their full potential, and, at the same time, help the world to be a better place. In the business community, learning is much more than just a way to produce the future that is desired. In todays fast-paced, highly aggressive work world, it may in reality give an organization the edge it needs to survive and thereby keep fulfilling its purpose. "Organizational learning focuses on the practice of five core disciplines, or capacities, of which systems thinking forms the cornerstone:

systems thinking team learning shared vision mental models personal mastery" (What is Organizational Learning, n.d.).

Organizations differ greatly in all parts. Creating an understanding of what influences organizational learning for the vast preponderance of organizations is tremendously valuable. It would individuals in a lot of different organizations to profit from examining some key factors that would augment organizational learning in their setting. It has been found that factors of enterprise, optimistic personality traits, commitment to professional development, interest in the profession, self-efficacy and love of learning enhances the motivation for informal organizational learning. On the other hand, unsupportive organizational culture consists of those who are unwilling to participate, lack time, and have a lack of closeness with colleagues, all which negatively impacts organizational learning (What is Organizational Learning, n.d.).

Contemporary organizations often have very diverse workforces nowadays. In an organization, diversity can be defined as the existence of workers who differ from each other in terms of age, gender, ethnicity or education. There are a variety of advances for managing diversity. These approaches can be applied either at the staff level or at the organizational level. The staff approaches to managing diversity include learning and understanding, while the organizational approaches include testing, training and mentoring. Ethics is also a big concern for many modern companies. Moral issues and choices that deal with right and wrong behavior can make or break a company in today's business world. There are many factors in the cultural, organizational and external environment that influence ethical behavior, but the major ethical issues that organizations have to address are sexual harassment, discrimination in pay and promotion, and the right to privacy (Introduction to Organizational Behavior, 2012).
