In most cases, there should be an interconnection between different departments of the project. A project office should be able to communicate and work with other departments in order to let the entire project exists as a successful system. Reporting mechanisms should be introduced in order to facilitate easy access and understanding of the project office and its functionalities.

The PMO should be put in charge of the process. In most cases, it is beneficial not to let the office be a punitive measure. The implementation process should assume all the requirements and steps involved. For instance, it is vital to have measured approaches that link the office with the entire project activities.
